dbox question

we have a dbox downstairs coming through one connection from virgin media.

we also have another connection in my upstairs bedroom which we use for the internet,

there is no splitter its 2 seperate boxes on the wall.

will i be able to buy a splitter and have the internet and a second dbox running in the bedroom? and still have the first dbox running downstairs.
