Hi there is simple and stright forward.

1) Press d-box button
2) settings Menu
3) Network
4) Take a note of your dbox IP address ie. 192.168.?.?

Go to your FTP key updater (you must be connected to the enternet)

1) Click on get the latest keys Please.
2) Choose one of the top 5 boxes and that is your (Provider)
3) Click on write file button
4) type (User name: root) (Password: dbox or dbox2) (IP address: the one you have took a note of from your dbox)
5) Click on bottom right button that say's (FTP File To Box).

a window will open and tell that your file transffere time EX: 28 seconds.

and that's it

ok thanks so i just need to connect pc and my d-box by a enternet cable or do i need speical cable many many thanks jay

you need crossover cable mate.
if you aint got one its easy to make one with spare ethernet cable

the only one i have is what i use for my internet conection can u buy the cross over lead as i dont wont to lose my internet aswell

as i said maplins do them fora fiver and are open sundays or any computer shop really

Yes can from any shop that sale stuff for computers or electronic equipments.

the price depend of the legth of the cable 2 mitters is quite good for about a ?5 or less.

just link upto pc and connect via ftp client like cute or flash fxp with crossover network cable dont need to have it connected to a live feed
