i cannot connect my d box2 to my pc via ethernet using flashfxp. All i get is connection failed no root to host?

IP is correct in tcp/ip and in flashfxp. Why is there a password in flashfxp? i set it as told to dbox/dbox2

What state does the box have to be in to connect ie. power on or off?

Oh Sorry silly me I didn't know that you dont have a crossover lead M8

check the leads that you have & Read the small writing on them should say:

          "YFC UTP CAT .5E PATCH ISO/IEC 11801"

Heres an image of the ends of a crossover cable, as you can see they are slightly different wiring colours, solid green/orange are swapped over and stripped green/orange are swapped over. A straight through cable will have both ends exactly the same.

Password is generally dbox2 but if it is a commando image, then the password is commando.
