    Confirmation Please.....

I have have used Keymaster and my remote control to update the Keylist codes. I re-boot the box and hey-presto all my channels are back (Yipee, I thought) Then after around 10 mins I lose all the premium Channels and am left with just the FTA's. So I re-load Keymaster, which now tells me that the keylist codes have changed again! I have done this several times and I always lose the channels after around 10 mins.

Am I doing something wrong (Have Laky Pro Image) or is it simply not possible to get round what VM have done this time simply by changing the codes with my remote?

When it comes to this type of thing, as with many, I really don't know my arse from my elbow!! If the only way to solve the issue is to do this "Auto Update Fix" then fine, I am willing to sarch the site, read the guides on how to connect my pc to the box, find out what type of leads I need to buy, and learn how to FTP (what ever that means ) the new fix onto the box. BUT, l imagine that for a non-techie like methat will take some time, so if there is away of sorting the problem by just using the remote then I would be very grateful if someone would let me know!

    Thanks!

i have a suspicion that something is up , as far as i can see the old codes for V% in the edin area are kaput , i hear that boxes with current images and the auto nagra7 fix are down all over this area...

My personal opinion is YES...it is worth the effort as it works and is still working, even if it did fek up after a while (which I doubt) then you will have learned quite a lot about how to navigate the box, its interesting.

Go for it is my advice but I am a thick paddy.

Cheers, have already had a quick look at that.....First thing I need is a crossover cable. Presumably it plugs into the ethernet socket of my DBox and then into the port on the side of my laptop (i.e the cable I would use to connect the laptop to the modem, if I wasn't using wireless connection?)

i know u have ordered xover cable and such , but let me mention,,,

if you are going to be messing with the box regularly (, which you may be over the next while you ascent the gentle but steep south face of Dbox knowledge) , its worth seriously condering plugging the box into your network router and having it wired into your home network.

I used to xover direct , but its much less hassle to have the box on the network , accessable from the comfort of your sofa / chair / bed / shed .

makes life easier , really ,
e.g backup image/keys etc , ftp to pc , Download new image , FTP to dbox , squirt over , reboot , pick up remote and test.

it also gives you scope to play with the recording / streaming toys later if you desire.

just a thought , u'll soon get tired of the 6 foot tether of xover if your doing a lot of meddling ,,,
