Hi, everyone i'm newbie so ill need a lot of help, i have a dbox and i've just bought a crossover cable, My box has gone off at the moment and i'm a bit confused as to get it back on again as i'm missing it. I haven't got the confidence to sort it out myself soi can someone please help!

i was the same angry . even now i still dont have the confidence . i don twant to mess about incase i do any more damage than already done to the box. but at the same time your box isnt working so what damage can you do .

have a look on the forum , everyone is very helpfull and will do what they can to help .

read some posts and im sure you will be lead in the right direction

Hey guys you wont mess it up, its straight forward and to be honest you will be proud as punch when you fix it yourself.

You need a crossover cable and you need to ftp the fix across, you can find the fix at the 1st link below and theres a guide on how to ftp it at the 2nd link. All I ask is that you click on the thanks button in the 1st post of the 2nd link, mubz spent a lot of time doing that guide for those that dont know how to do it.

did you delete ALL the files ending 10 and 11 in the keys folder

Thanks jaffa but downloading the fix is a problem, because when you open the file it opens as windows media player and carn't open

if its a rar file (which the nagra7 fix is ) download and install win rar (via google) , when it installs rar files will then be associated to be opened by it ,

if not , right click the rar file and choose "open with" , then browse to the winrar exe.

installing winrar should auto associate rar files with that application , but if not , the setting is somewhere in the TOOLS -> options menu ( in XP , i thnk , dont use windows anymore here )

( i'm sure thats the correct menu choices, but u get the idea)

to set it permament (in xp , dunno about vista) ,,, in windows explorer , TOOLS ,, folder options , files types , find the rar file type and change it to be opened with win rar)

If winRar is installed All Compressed files are shown as WinRar files in Vista.
