Set the network duplex to auto..... or better 10/half as this is the speed that sagem work at.

If you've patched into a switch/router directly then you'll need a normal patch lead.

Crossover = direct patching (PC to Dbox)
Normal patch lead = Dbox to switch/router

You need to setup Local Area Connection correctly.

You must disable local Area Connection to set it up and when you finish the setup Enable it.

Remember one thing is very important, to have good communication between the box and computer is to typ right IP in the local area connection.
        This is an exemple.

        Dbox2 IP...........................(192.168.1.5)
        Local Area Connection IP ....(192.168.1.4)

Notice the last degit in local area connection is (-1) no matter what the last number/s make sure is one less in (L.A.C) IP address box

it doesnt matter what you set the ip to as long as your broadcast on the dbox and gateway on the pc are the same and you can remember the ip of the dbox for setting up your ftp program.

            Yep, exactly.

            Username: root
            Password: dbox (or try dbox2)

You didn't need to change Vista to XP but it doesn't matter anyway.

John go to download section and download Filezilla and install it in your lptop is far better than Flashfxp.

Filezilla FTP setup for Laptop or PC:
                    1) Open filezilla application.
                    2) Click on File (top left hand side) a widow will open.
                    3) Click on (New Site) and name it the same as your image (If you give it your image name it will saved for future use)
                    4) Host: Your Dbox2 IP address.
                    5) Servertype: FTP-File Transfer Protocol.
                    6) Logontype: Normal
                    7) User: root
                    8) Password: dbox (or) dbox2 (no space between dbox and number 2).
                    9) Do not change anything else in the setup form.
                    10) Now click on connect (Make sure that your Dbox2 is connected to your Laptop by crossover lead)
On Filezilla page you will find your Dbox2 files and folders on the right hand side.
Your Computer stuff on the left hand side if you want to transfer any needed stuff to your Dbox2 just click on it with right mouse button and click again on transfer and that’s it.
Good luck to you and please let me know how you getting on if nothing is happening then
you need to setup your Local Area Connection and I am happy to help do that

                      Guys..

If your using Win XP Pro, then you don't really need a 3 party FTP program.

Open up windows explorer (not Internet explorer), the one that shows your drive letters.

type in there the Dbox IP address
                      eg: ftp://192.168.0.5
                      press enter

you should get a login box - enter the username/password
                      root
                      dbox2

From here you can go to the Keys folder and copy/delete whatever you like!!
                      If it don't work then:
                      1. make sure you can ping the dbox
                      2. check what version of XP your using (I'm not sure about home edition or Vista)

                              1) If you are using wireless desconnect now by disibling it.
                              2) enable local area connection
                              3) disable your antivirus (be sure you are not connected to the enternet)
                              4) disable Firewall

Connect to your FTP application (Fillezilla or Flasfxp) and transfer what you want to dbox.

Remember to enable your antivirus and firewall to connect back to the enternet, if the above is not working then we need to setup your local area connection.
