Flashing an image onto Nokia Dbox2

HI all, i am in the middle of flashing an image to my dbox by using a crossover cable and IFA. I started it at 4 o'clock and was wondering if it was working or i just takes that long. The other thing is should i restart it or plug the arial back into the box. All help would be great as i have been trying to do this since yesterday morning.

    Thanks Jay

I am sort of glad yu started your own thread as the other one was about seperate issue.

Can I ask why you are using IFA....is the box in kein system or not working for some reason ???

what do you mean "kien system"? it was working one minute and the next morning it wasnt. There are little keys on the programme bar, which i think it means locked. I have no idea what i am doing and am just trying to get as much help as possible.

I tried to reboot but nothing still, all the channels are there but they are blank. The only ones i get are 1,2,3,4,5 and itv2.

I am using IFA as its the only thing i have heard anything about and only have a crossover cable.

Are you not using a null modem cable as well?

The reason I ask is that is how I flash my 'kein sysytem' box if that is what you have!

        I also use IFA.

So you can actually get into the dbox menu ??? If so you do not need IFA, thats for when you cant get into the dbox at all.

O.K m8, hook it up by ftp. Are you using flashfxp. Doesnt matter what ftp client you use.

ftp the image from your pc to the /tmp folder on your dbox

with your remote control go to.
                dbox
                service
it will either be flash/backup image or expert fucntions (depending on image)
                flash one partition
                flash without bootloader
a box pops up, highlight the image
                press red

When finished it will reboot and you can then add the keys folder and new roms

Connect to dbox with crossover cable

                        Start flashfxp

                        press F4

you will get a window pop up, click new site

another window will pop up, type it any name...best to use dbox.

put the dbox ip address in where it says ip address

                        username is root
                        password is dbox2

                        click apply and connect

once connected on the right side screen, go to /tmp and on the left side go to wherever your saved image is, highlight it and press the transfer button at the top of left side, its like 2 arrows one green and orange.

then go to my other post about using your remote

You can get the keys below, just extract to your pc then ftp to /var/keys
                              RapidShare: Easy Filehosting

then you need to apply the fixed roms, get then below and extract to your pc and ftp to /var/keys, overwriting the other ones.

reboot and put on the likes of SS1 and wait for it to update the keys.
