Help with applying the fix to Sagem Dbox2

I've followed the steps in "How to FTP the fix into the dbox for noobs" but keep getting the following message:

Status: Connection attempt failed with "EHOSTUNREACH - No route to host".
Error: Could not connect to server

My connection is ethernet to ethernet direct from computer to Dbox.

    Any help is much appreciated!

    r u using a cross over cable

whats the IP address of dbox and pc

the error message looks like a routing table therefore I suspect issue is with the IP address of the dbox - not being on the same subnet of the pc

Yes I'm using a crossover cable!

They are both on the same subnet!

      255.255.255.0

disable any firewalls, disable any other connections. go into properties of network card and click on configure>advanced>network & duplex(yours may be named slightly different) and select 10 half base and save, , if your box ip is say 192.168.1.100, then set your network card to 192.168.1.99 on the internet protocol

I've got the IP's sorted but can't get the connection between box and computer!
I'm not really familiar with FTP's but it seems quite staight forward. I'm new to all this but I'm here to learn!

Just seem to be stuck in a rut!

Looks like binning the dbox and getting one of the newer boxes unless there is someone out there that can take me through this step by step!

I'm even toying with the idea of re-assembling an old computer with just XP and filezilla, then adding a network card!

All this just to apply the fix!
