        can you ping the box?

                Time

How Long does the IFA take?

I ve loaded it up but its been saying the computer is being prepared for the flashing process for quite awhile.

In the dbox boot manager it says waiting to start, I ve tried clicking start but it just returns, ping failure.

                Any ideas?

You don't need to touch the bootmanager window. Turn the box off, run IFA, click through the OK buttons on IFA and when the bootmanager window minimises to the bottom left of the screen, then turn your box on. If it doesn't come up saying 'flashing' on the LCD and continues to boot or hangs, hold the up arrow and standby button on the front of the box until it reboots again, keep doing this until it connects.

It's best if you use a null modem cable AND a crossover ethernet cable. But if you don't have a null modem cable, it can still be done with only the ethernet cable, it just might not connect first time and you might need to reboot a couple of time before it kicks in.

                    thanks but

Hi, thanks for your reply but Im still not getting any joy.

Im running vista 32, I ve turned my av, firewall, defender all off, network card changed to 10/half duplex, and static ip of 192.168.0.201. I ve had the bootmanager to connect to the dbox a couple of times, arp created or something like that, but nothing else starts. I must have rebooted by dbox a hundred times.

Im pulling my hair out, I cannot get the null cable to work with vista so I am just using a cross over cable. Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated.

Disable IPv6 and use only IPv4.

                        hi

Hi thanks for your help. I ve got it working now

It was apparently Vista that was causing the problems, I done a search for IFA Vista and found a file labelled Vista compatable, it worked first time. Not sure if you have this in your download section, I could nt see it anyway. I can upload it to you if you like, let me know.

                        Once again many thanks.
