Have you used the correct symbol rate? Have you tried a CDF for your area/provider? Have you made sure you have the coax in the RF Cable IN socket?

    Have you tried it elsewhere?

        wrong socket

You have the cable plugged into the ant. and not the rf socket.

yes, 3.7db loss on a 2 way splitter, but after he has scanned, and needs to put the splitter back on, (for modem or another box) he will still be losing that 3.7 db, so i dont believe his problem is the splitter....just my opinion

maybe a stab in the dark but ,sometimes if i pull my cable feed a little to hard yhe inner copper core pulls back inside the sheathing.therefore the screw on adapter doesent connect with it.I have to get my long nosed pliers and pull it back out again, but watch how hard you pull it as not to snap it.worth a look.

Good point...the stinger should be showing about 2mm past the brass screw on connector

I never said that was the OP's problem. I answered your query in relation to the splitter. Scanning from the direct feed will pick the TPs up without additional loss. Once the tuner has found these TPs adding the splitter back will not affect them unless the splitter is faulty.

I reflashed my kryptview last week, took me half an hour of no transponders to realise I had not plugged cable back in!!!

                        It does happen!!!!!!

As satsmo said earlier, have you tried the box elsewhere? maybe at a mates house?
It sounds like you are getting no signal down the cable, if you have vm broadband, try that cable on the box
