Hi mate it is female both ends but after reading one of the stickys about eurovox cables needed it says that rs232 cables dont work and it needs to be a null modem 9 pin but my cable seems to say its a null modem and a rs232 any ideas if it will work

They are both RS232 cables. The correct one "null modem" is cross configured RX/TX and thats what is required. A standard RS232 cable will be straight through.

Maplins is the place to go

I just bought (and successfully updated) a null cable modem from Maplin today.

It was the Nikkai Serial Lead [Null Modem] 9 pin Female to 9 pin Female as this is what worked on my old PC.

Worked a treat and all channels working again thanks to the firmware on this site.

          Thanks all
