EX5000 PVR - Confirm Running Firmware

Sounds like a daft question in some ways, but how can you confirm the firmware type/version that you are running on the Eurovox EX5000? I have attached the output from Menu -> Config -> System Information, but being new to the Eurovox this doesn't mean much to me! Can you tell if it is the original firmware or the "special" firmware? And does S/W Ver correspond to a version of firmware that may have been posted on this site for example?

I have bought 2 EX5000s and they both pick up all the subscription channels straight out of the box with no firmware uploading, so I'm wondering where I'm at with firmwares etc.

    Many thanks in advance,
    Cheers,
    Jamoi

There has been 2 more updates since. You need to update it with the 1.5 auto version.

Please see download section for this.

Thanks Xtravagant. So the firmware they shipped with wasn't original "Eurovox firmware" just for FTA channels then?

Can anyone else confirm this? Or what the output on the system information screen would be for an EX5000 with original firmware loaded? Thanks!

THAT IS THE CORRECT AND UP TO DATE FIRMWARE.!!!

I have the same box and even though the dates don't tally with the date it was released doesn't means it's not the correct S/W version.

The max V latest update still remains at the old date of 18 april.

I can guarantee that is the correct firmware date and should automatically update as mine does..

Sorry to keep harping on, but is there a visible difference in the UI or menus when you have the non-Eurovox firmware? Or is it identical? Do the version numbers mean anything, seeing as one person has already said the date on the firmware is irrelevant?

              Cheers,
              Jamoi

Your system info reads S/W Ver 18 Oct 2008, the previous read S/W Ver 15 July 2008 also the newer Ver has te deep scan and signal booster option.

I have the same firmware as the original poster has. When people say the box will 'update automatically' what does this actually mean?
