    Eurovox 5000 - lateest firmware....what now?

    Hi,
Got mt ex5000 for xmas and have just flashed it with the latest firmaware (with autosort fix). Have conneected it up to TV......but what do I do now?

Have searched the forums but can't find the procedures to follow to get the box up and running. Do I have to go into the menu and do a power scan? Anything else I need to do?

    Thanks in advance

I think it is just a case of hooking it up and scanning mate.

Almost - you need to delete all channel info, reset to factory defaults, then enter the correct key so the box knows if its in a Telewest (6.952) or NTL (6.887) area when you go to do the powerscan.
40 minutes later you should have all your channels, and just re-name the ones that dont make much sense - thats it !

Thanks for quick replies...I now have all the channels (all that I want anyway). However one more question.....why do I seem to have 3 of everything (eg. three itv's, three sky premieres etc) ??

        Thanks
        Paul

You DID delete all existing (working or not) channels before doing a scan ?

Thanks RustyMG, that'll be it. I just did a power scan as soon as I connected it up (ie. didn't do any channel deletions or factory reset first!).

I'll do it again tomorrow now, as kids are watching it!!

            Cheers

Hee hee dont worry - my bro did the same once and ended up with about 500 channels of nonsense.
The only pain with a power scan is when its done, renaming all those Discovery channels so they make sense when flicking thru the favourites etc etc
After you do a power scan and everything is sorted, if a channel ever just "vanishes" (as they frequently do), there is NO need to do another power scan - just do the other scan and you should get your channels back :-)
