you can't you need a card or cam like diablo cam

Aaargh, I bought the box on a recommendation that it would descramble all channels automatically.
I guess I would just have to get a providers smart card and contract then or is the diablo cam solution quite easy to get around?

If you can send it back and exchange for the EX7000, which is the cable box.

Unless you want to keep the EX 8000 satellite box. With this box you will require additional hardware set up, which could work out quite expensive if you dont have any hardware already.
And is also a bit more complicated to set up.

I unfortunately only got satellite ability.

I've been looking at cams and stuff, but as you say it can be quite expensive if you haven't got it already and quite confusing.

What smart card would I be able to put in if I ever find one?

Could The "sly" work? If I even just get the contract with "sly"?

M8, you need to ask these questions in the satellite section, they will be able to advise you more.
There are many smart cards which could work but they all will have to be programmed with files first with a card reader/writer.
Some receivers can just use softwa*e updates to open packages which have been opened.
