hi hello to all i am a new member here the site looks great, now on to my problem my mate has the ex1000sl which has locked onto a warning screen from v--g-- telling him it is an illegal box and to ring a number if he needs help. the box is now locked on this screen cant get the remote to work and dont know how to get into menus i have tried the reset button inside but after resetting it goes back to screen with warning on dont know what else to do other than throw in bin please please could someone take a little time to help as the box is only 2 weeks old but cant be be returned.

I can tell you the warning screen has nothing to do with the box freezing mate, Try unplugging from the mains for a a min or two. Then power it back on and see if this resolves the issue.Sometimes a slow gradual approach does more good than a large gesture. -
Also, you could check if the remote is working by holding a camera phone up to it and looking at the remote sensor through the camera. If you see it flashing when you press a button the remote is ok, I know it probably isn't the remote but best to cover all bases. Has the box been flashed? And if it has, Has the correct f/w been loaded on to it?Sometimes a slow gradual approach does more good than a large gesture.Comment

yes have tried all that even opened it up and tried reseting with reset button. think a signal has been sent to block the box as this warning came on as he was watching a film. no matter where you plug the box in you can only get this warning page.tried at mine and a mates house its just stuck.Comment

I'm pretty sure signals cant be sent to block the box as vm can't detect that you're using them. Sounds strange to me, Maybe the box has crashed. Do you mind me asking where you purchsed it?Sometimes a slow gradual approach does more good than a large gesture.Comment

No signals cant be sent so your jumping to conclusions. a message may appear like bad or scrambled channel or no signal but that is illustrative of a poor signal strength.
the message is a pile of pants delete it if you want.Comment
