i have done that its on com 4 and loaded drivers that i downloaded off this site

Ok go into device manager right click on com4 then click properties, Then port settings tab then advanced and change the com port number to one. Then try again and let me know how it goes, Hope this helps.

no mate never made any difference changed it to port one still coming up with same message

change of plan mate keeps saying download failed!!! help whats wrong now

Ok thats weird, You have got the ex5000 in standby haven't you? so the red light is on at the front, If not try again with the box in standby.

yeah its in standby mate its coming up writing but gets to 90 secs or around there and says failed. its not saying sending or anything or any message on front display saying its downloading

Try switching the com port number to 2 instead of 1, And try again mate.

No it says writing thats normal. How many times have you tried now mate? Maybe try powering the box down totally the plugging bk in again, and give it another go. I have had failed before but has always worked the second time.
