EX700 Do you really want to know

I had one for 4 days now, picture on HD is to die for, only BBC HD at the moment, but it does vary the progs it puts out, e.g. Saturday night was a movie, the normal picture is the same as the starview I suppose, its normal viewing, loading the firmware and saving settings is a dream, downside is the channel editing, absolute nightmare, the only good thing about the editing is you can do a bit save and come back to it later, channel changing is much slower than the starview, and be warned the handbook is very poor and not very informative at all, you will be grateful for sites like these for help, pvr is good, I wish it had two tuners though, when you are recording you are left with the freeview channels on your telly if you have them. last gripe I have is the hard drive stays on when the box is on standbye, I worry about the safty overnight running continuously, not mention how long the HDD will last, so I now turn the box off at the rear, hope this helps some of you. all in all would I buy it again YES the HD pic is A+++

I have it too, but I also have a MaxV and this is by far better. BBC HD is top quality I agree. I wanted an extra box anyway to put in another room so in my case it was worth the money, however I don't think it's worth spending ?200 to upgrade to one of these for the sake of BBC HD. But, if you need a new box anyway it is well worth the purchase.

The max v is better because the firmware has had time to advance, As f/w gets released for the ex7000hd im sure it will go from strength to strength imo.
Sometimes a slow gradual approach does more good than a large gesture.
