    Eurovox EX1000 Com Port/Flashing Problems

I've just recently bought a 2nd hand box of ebay hoping it would be an easy fix, the box is working fine with firmware from August 2008 if i remember correctly.

Obviously it's only receiving FTA channels and showing "scrambled" on all the others.

I'm looking to update the firmware with the UFL EX1000 SL V1.0 by DarX.

I've loaded it up, got the null modem cable which works on all other boxes fine, checked it's on com port 1 - no issues there but when i click "download" on the UFL program it only comes up "waiting for the response of your receiver".

I've tried switching the box off and back on at various times, pressing the reset button on the motherboard and still nothing.

Does anyone have any ideas how to sort it

    Thanks in advance

      Hi There,

I've already been through the guide, i've tried about 20 times so far using the hold reset button down then switching on the box but still wont detect.

I'm using a std null modem cable (also tried the usb one i had) connecting directly to my pc but neither seem to detect it.

I've tried changing com ports but that doesn't work either.

It's still on the FTA Kuro software 1.0 ST4 Aug 21 2008 so i'm guessing you can't add any codes etc.

If i JTAG the box what files do i need to flash the TSOP - and once this is done i guess i'll still need to load the image onto it which still probably wont work.

      Any suggestions?

it could also be the psu even though it shows blue light ,if you have another sl then perhaps worth swapping over to test
there is no tsop been released for sl ( that i know of ) but may be worth trying the black tsop as a last resort if your psu is ok

Can you try flashing it on another PC, maybe try another null modem cable also.

Tried using the laptop with USB serial cable but no joy there either.

I've checked the PSU - serial connections and cable all seem ok, the only thing i noticed on the board is that there could be a capacitor or something missing.

There seems to be 2 solder points next to each other with nothing connecting them. The points on the board are T01 and C20 which are about 10mm apart.

There's nothing connecting them at all - does anyone elses board have anything here?

            Thanks
