    Freeview better quality than cable..

    Hi all,

I've just got a Eurovox Ex5100 (I can recommend bubblecableboxes.com btw) and I'm slightly disappointed with the picture quality. The freeview picture from my TV?s integrated tuner is noticeably sharper. I was expecting the cable picture to be equal to if not better than the freeview pic.

I was wondering if this is normal.

You using an LCD tv per chance?
If I had a quid every time this happened.....
    What MIGHT be wrong is......
On a lot of LCD (and plasma's Im assuming) is that when you connect a scart input on the rear, the picture onscreen defaults to composite irrespective of what signal its been fed - you need to go into the menu options for the input your viewing and change to RGB.
Sharp tv's are the worst for this - that will probably explain why you have a picture, but it looks a bit "soft" - it will be on composite.
Oh - Im assuming of course you had already changed your eurovox output to RGB digital in the menu options.

I have improved mine by playing with the image and colour settings on the LCD. It's still not quite as sharp as freeview tho. I'm now thinking it maybe down to some upscaling on the inbuilt freeview card. the eurovox has no upscaing that I know of.

Can anyone confirm as there's a strong chance I'm just making stuff up now....
