    ex7000 why why why?

    hi guys

ive recently purchased the ex7000 box, however my main gripe is the pvr and storage functions.......why on earth did they rush this box out instead of adding in the necessary options needed for SD/HD viewing ie. twin tuners & build in harddrive.

the picture quality is great on this box its just a shame that it lacks the above or this would be a 100% sure buy for everyone on this forum. there is an equivilent to this box, which is the DM8000 but is anyone going to pay ?800+ for the extra features mentioned above probably not unless your mad!

    what do you think?

    regards me

yea agree with what you say with what the ex7000 lacks. Give it 6 months there will be twin tuner and internal hard drive box out. The price will be about ?350 I suspect. It keeps people in jobs though http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...smiley-048.gif

Twin tuners and an internal HDD are not necessary for viewing SD or HD channels. It is a basic HD unit that you can have a hdd connected via usb if you wish and the ?169 price tag makes it an affordable option for all, If the unit had all the extras you mention it would not be.

Totally agree, it does a great job for a great price. Very few people would be willing to pay ?350 for a twin tuner hdd box, so low demand = no product.

are you insane? twin tuners and an internal HDD are not necessary....how do you explain V+ and SKY HD? i know its a basic HD unit but that doesnt explain why they didnt include this in the first place as it is needed nowadays or they wouldnt have put in a USB port for external HDD use. we know the usb is for firmware upgrades but for you to say that it is not necessary is like having a car with no wheels!!! yes you can view channels but whats the point of having all these channels if you cant record what you want at the same time. so im afraid your point is very lacking to say the least and for submissing that the box is ?350 is crazy, it would be cheaper just to take out a V+ contract and get everything legally.

a little more thought and this would have been a sure winner, however the price is still steep for a new box that only offers the option of 1 HD channel and the normal SD channels are no where near as good as my V+ box for upscaling! but this didnt stop me from buying it

          regards me

Try the latest firmware release here Digital Kaos - Downloads - *NEW* EX7000HD Firmware update

It specifically addresses scanning issues, which you may be having. After you reflash, do a factory reset and scan again.

we shouldve just talked about football as this thread had nothing to do with firmware updates! it was more to do with lack of features!!!
