    ex5100-no channel 8% signal

    Hi, im a new bie in here,please help me with this matter: i just got my ex5100, try to put cable feed in and scan but no channel, try read about that problem on this web site, did install a latest firmware, scan it and still no channel, and it show signal quality is only 8%, is that bad(very?)? read some read related about 8%,some blamed for a box but i think a box's fine, so it should problem with my cable feed quality ,isnt it?

    Yes its very bad and it wont work with that signal,its definitely a signal problem,so are you a subsciber to a cable supplier ? if so how are the pictures on your set top box? are you scanning on the correct symbol rate ? there might be maintainence in your area by the cable supplier,or they might have disconnected your feed if you are not a subscriber ....

      hi you will have to flash the box with the latest flash when you dowload the flash to your pc it should have a read me file with step by step instructions hope this helps

        thx for advise, just oder to change everything to VM yesterday night. i think they should check a cable quality or replace new 1 for me
        hope virgin get better BB speed than sky,more than 530kbs for me

          Just got an EX5100 today. Got the same 8% signal strength. Will re-flash and udate on results

            Could well be a similar problem to what people are experiencing with the new EX7000HD, a signal strength of only 20% is being indicated but the boxes are picking up channels no problem.
