I have just read thorough the thread again from the beginning.

Has anyone actually following HiTeck instructions by doing a factory reset and then a power scan.

I am going to give it a go tonight and see how I get on obviously after the football!

        Will keep you posted.

Do you think different makes of HDD may make a difference.

I know they say the box will work with a Western digital or Segate HDD

I am using a Western digital HDD and the problem happenes.

I'm using a WD hard drive and mine works fine. I used to have this problem until I flashed the box with the HD out using the autosort firmware, re-inserted HD, factory default including erasing all the recordings and its been fine every since.

                Ok thanks for that.

I will do it exactly the same way.

After flashing the box, can I download my saved CDF file or should I do a fresh power scan?

I used my own CDF so it should be fine, best of luck.

Last night I followed HiTecks instructions to fix my Eurovox EX5000PVR from turning off at midnight and it worked:-

                    1. Take out the hard drive.
                    2. Reflash the box with the latest firmware even if you already have it.
                    3. Re insert the hard drive and connect up to TV.
                    4. Do a factory reset and clear all data on the HDD.
                    5. Rescan for channels or down load CDF file if saved.

Guys give it a go and let me know how you get on please, hope it works for you.

Can I ask if you have had any issues since you reflashed in this way?

                      thanks

If I leave the box alone without recording anything it goes right through mid night with no problems.

I do record things at 11pm which finish at 12pm which then sometimes causes the box to go on stand by after it has finished recording.

Try flashing the box as I said and post back if you encounter the same problem.
