Null Modem Cable

Hi guy's can you help me..I have a null modem cable that I use for the dbox but a friend wants me to update his ex5000pvr..will my cable do or will I have to buy a rs232 cable.

Hi guy's been trying to get it to connect but for some reason it just say's it cant connect to reciever?..been looking through the threads before posting and seen similar prob, tried it on xp and vista with and without usb serial, any idea's.

Com port 1 m8..I've used this cable many times for the dbox and dreamboxes no probs, but this ex5000 pvr is new to me , got the softwear from downloads and followed the tut for flashing and cant connect to box... tried on my desktop xp and lappy vista.

I checked the vents at the tuner there was 8.

try and press download onthe top of loader if ur not allready if no luck start download then power up box couple of seconds later

when I hit download a box appears and it jumps from comm 1 to 3 then 4 when I hit start it just say's cant detect reicever..strange one .

select one at a time m8 try each one
