    is the box dead

    hi folks i've read some other peoples troubles with there blue box and tested most theories with no joy at all so here gos and hope u can help. I have a eurovox max blue edition 2006 original and the problem is it just wont turn on. its stuck on standby with red light on. When i try and patch it it gos through everything fine and it says firmware complete!!! But it still stuck on standby also i've tested the capacitator C14 and power flowing ok through it.

    Have you tried holding down the reset button for a few seconds which is located on the main board?

      sounds to me like you have a cloned box
      flash with the clonesafe firmware
      sometimes you have to do this through the rf lead rather than through scart
      do a factory reset then a power scan and you should be fine

        How have you tested the cap? I would be tempted to replace it.

              thks hiteck sorry for not replying. i've put a electrical screwdriver on it and the light came on but the cap doesnt look out of shape or enlarged. also the box is definetly not a clone.

                That doesn't mean the cap is ok mate, try the reset button if that doesn't work replace the cap, it doesn't always have to be swollen or leaking to be faulty.
