    Viewing HD channels

    Hi
I have a max v which has HD channels but no HDMI socket !
I also have a samsung DVD/HDD recorder with freeview and no HD channels but has an HDMI socket. The max v is conected to the samsung via scart, so the question is if I conected the samsung to the TV with a HDMI cable could I view HD from the max v.

    Thanks Delapaix

As you say the Max V has no HDMI socket so you cannot connect the cable. The EX7000 is the Eurovox HD receiver

Sorry my last post was not really explicit. The Max V cannot dechipher the HD channel stream so no matter how you connect it it would still no display the HD content

a scart lead cannot carry a HD signal, so even if the MaxV could decipher HD channels, which it can't, the fact that the picture travels via scart to the samsung means that it wouldn't be HD

Your box is not HD compatable since it has no HDMI socket. To view HD channels, you need an HD box (prob EX7000HD+) with HDMI socket to conect to the other HDMI sockets on your DVD/TV which must be HD compatable.
