ok,subtitles seem to have appeared on various channels and althought in settings i have it set to off,it keeps coming on,any ideas?

don't know about your box but i've found with my 2 ev boxes, sometimes v/media put forced subs or comentary on some channels for hard of hearing, if you scan through your channels you may find the same channel again without the subs. failing that what works for my boxes is the old evmax on the remote press the language button which ever one you are on choose the next option or on the ex 1000 sl hit the red button on remote to bring up language options, hope this helps.
