    HD prob with eurovox

    I have just fitted the recomended western digital HD to my eurovox ex5000
    it records/ pauses live tv, everything works fine until i start the unit from standby, then it freezez up and nothing works till i switch off /on at mains then it all works ok again
    any one els had similar probs, or any idea why its doing this?

    Yes i have had the same problem. I also found that it started to loose data from the Hardrive when this happened.

    Some of the users recommend pulling the Hardrive in and out a few times to work the connections as there could be a dry joint. I believe that its just a software issue or glitch and you will have to keep it on all of the time.

    Doesnt seem to much of a problem considering that the LED on the front of the box is just as bright when off as when the box is on.

      the recommended drive is a seagate mometus ,wd do work but seems to be more problems with wd than seagate but seagate do also have problems the box needs a new firmware fix for these problems

        Turn your box off via the switch at the back rather than leaving it on standby all night then you wont have this problem. They all seem to do it regardless of what HDD you have installed.
