As long as you have not been disconnected from the green box at the end off the road. The best way to check if there is a signal coming in is to connect it to your tv and see if you get any channels like bbc1/itv/etc. If you do then your cable is still live.
PS: you will probably have to scan your tv for channels. Make sure the cable wire is plugged into your tv when you do this.
