    newbie here,

    hello everyone,
this is a newbie question, so please be patient....
Firstly, iv'e got a eurovox ex1000sl, and was wondering if updating the key codes is the same as flashing the firmware?
Second, I'm getting my key code from the chatterbox, and i'm unsure as to who my "PROVIDER" is. Is it Pure NTL (5401), i'm in Coventry.
NB:- when i look at my current codes (menu, yellow button)
provider, key 01, and key 02 are all full of zero's. I have yet to input any new codes as i've only had the box a couple of weeks, and am treading gingerly at the moment.
Any answers and advice will be greatly appreciated,
    thanks,
    Bouf.

no it's not the same. If you flash with the latest firmware you won't have to bother manually updating the codes, it will update them itself. You won't need to worry about chatterbox or whether or not it's pure NTL etc. the up to date firmware will do everything for you.

have a good read first like camelv said then any questions ask. key codes are just a quick fix but when the codes roll again your box will be knackered again, it needs flashing.
