got all the right cables drive for null modem cabel load but when i try and down load firm ware to box says no port avlible so what do i need to do

You need to do this You have to adjust your com port settings, either change them or free one up.
Go to:
Control Panel
System
Hardware
Device Manager
Open Ports (note here you can disable or remove a device to free a com port, can be undone after your finished)
Right click on USB adpater
Open Properties, this should allow the option to change com ports -
