have you flashed your box with the new firmware m8.
if you have do a factory reset on you box and then power scan this will bring them back.

if you are ex ntl ireland its because the encryption has changed. you wont get them back. if its not then try a rescan.

I flashed the box with the firmware update from nov/dec last. has there been anymore since??? I am an ntl ireland customer. Did a rescan and didnt get them back. But i must try a factory reset first and then rescan.

Is there anything that can be done about the encryption. Any codes etc....

        Thanks

I'm in the same boat, NTL/Chorus are changing to a new encryption called Nagra 3 in Ireland. It's never been cracked, so there is no fix, rescans won't do you any good, the party's over for us unfortunately. We're gonna lose more channels every week until the move to Nagra 3 is complete.

Wondering whether you people in Ireland have been given new cards for your set top boxes to work on the new encryption ? or have you had new boxes that can cope with it ? I wouldn't have thought that the old type set top boxes could pick up a new encryption without some sort of modification, whether it be cards or even new boxes, just interested ......

They're sending out new cards. Starting with the channels with the lowest subscribers, they send out replacement cards to all the customers with those channels, then once everybody has a new card they change the encryption for that channel.
