Hi all,
So whats the beef with this new firmware then?
Have we gone from 1.1a to 2.1 now?

Could someone please list the benefits of using the updated version please.
I see a SIGNAL BOOSTER option but, not sure how its going to manage that without additional hardware.

Lastly i take it this is official (..if you can say that considering the whole thing is dodgy to start..).
Whats to stop VM or S bringing out a patch to bring us all down to china town?

Satsmo tested and uploaded it here, if it was "dodgy" he wouldn't of put it up, the benefits are as you said a better signal booster obviously for people having signal problems, if yours is ok then leave it as it is.

Not intended to accuse Satsmo of dodgy upload at all apologies to him if it sounded that way.
Just being causious as always to know the uploads origins and what it does before you install.

Trying to edit channels using the new UFL and keeps crashing. Any ideas? Or should i just use the old UFL 1.1a?

Non taken mate. Yes the newer UFL seem to crash as you said try one from 18-04-08 or use voxer available in downloads.

The editing features of UFL have been broken for a while. It appears to be an official release but has not come through the usual channels that us dealers get them from.

I haven't noticed anything different apart from the booster option, I have tested the EX5000 version but not the EX1000 version as yet.

Yep tried it this evening, the booster option was always available with the ex5000pvr's previous S/W ver but this firmware for me seems to boost the signal to the point of the channels becoming unwatchable 90/95 % signal strength which is too high for me so if your signal strength is adequate I would leave it alone, I have gone back to the previous firmware as I dont have a problem with my signal but I can see how this would help others with low signal problems.

Edit: I have 3 ex1000 to try tomorrow so will report back the difference.

I noticed this firmware too, the only change to it is the signal booster option which is a must for those who really need it but if you have no problems with the way your box works at the moment then its best to keep as you are as Teck says, personally I have no problems so Im staying put.

Hi guys can anyone tell me how you use this signal booster option (is it in menu?)
have loaded this firmware without booster on my dad's 5000pvr and he is having problem's losing channels etc..
was gonna give this one a try. Thanks

On remote press menu>config>tv settings>ok>scroll down to booster turn on>press green button on remote>exit.

Not too sure if this built in booster works or not, if not u will require an external booster.
