Got new eurovox, scans upto 100% but got no channels?

Bought a new urovox ex7000, ive plugged the power cable in, got the hdmi plugged into the tv to the eurovox, and got the outside eariel cable coming through my window plugged into the aerial socket on the back.
Ive done my first scan but it has picked up no channels at all after 100%! im sure ive got it all connected properly!
The may sound like a stupid question, but do i need a virgin box in order to find channels?

Um, you HAVE got a telepest / NTeL cable tv feed plugged in the back and not your tv aerial from the roof ?!!!

Plus, you havent changed the software on the box anyway - read the four stickie threads at the very top in red bold as they will tell you everything you need to know, and guide you through each step.

Just to note make sure your cable feed is plugged into the RF in and not the ANT socket at the back of the box otherwise you wont pick up anything.

, you were scanning on the wrong symbol rate, nothing to do with "408khz", as said if you haven't updated the firmware you will get all the channels but they will be scrambled.

i downloaded the latest firmware, then just dragged it into the usb, does it need to be in any specific folder within the usb?? after i did that i put it into my box.
