In terms of which box, you need to decide if you want a box that has a record facility or just a standard box for viewing.

If you are looking for a box that can record, I would a recommend the Eurovox Ex5100. For a standard box which is nice and compact the Eurovox EX1000SL. If you really want to break the bank there is a HD box which is the the EUrovox EX7000 HD, however there is currently only one channel available in HD, BBC1.

I have used a few companies and the one that I would recommend is My Cable Box .Place your order online and it will arrive the next day with a full tracking facility and most importantly no clones.

WHen you receive your box only the freeview channels will work. You will need to flash your box (install new sofware on it) and then scan for channels in your area. There are detailed red stickys on the top of this forum on how to do this.

All the cables and connectors you need will come with your box.

Unfortunately I can only give advice on Eurovoxes as these are the only boxes that I have used and know how to configure.

At the endo of the day vik., everyone is going to have their own opinion of the best box, however, what is right for them is not neccesarily right for somebody else.

I would say if you want to watch tv and thats it, best plug and play is prob eurovox
If you want more of a hobby and more than just watching tv, go for any linux box.

most sites sell boxes that work right out of the box, however it depends on what you mean by " work " , if you want free to air TV then "Yes " they all sell them, but of your asking for a box that will get you pay channels, then the answer is "No " unless you look on flea bay, then even that is taking a risk as many peeps are now being reported or ripped off.

Best thing to do is but a free to air box, and learn how to fine adjust it yourself, all the help is on here one way or another .
