How important is it to remove the splitter....

    ....when doing a power scan?

I need to do a factory reset and power scan on my 5000, as I have lost quite a few channels recently.

I have a 2 way splitter on the outside of the house feeding the downstairs TV and broadband modem and the upstairs TV.

Also downstairs inside the house is a 2 way splitter that takes the feed to the cable modem and the 5000 box.

If I need to remove the splitter(s) to get optimal rescan, do I need to remove both or would just disconnecting one or indeed the upstairs VM box and the cable modem suffice ?

Also I would not be able to remove the outside splitter since the cable into this splitter is not long enough to connect direct to the 5000 box.

    Cheers

You should not need to remove any of the splitters mate, all should scan fine if you have been watching OK before. If you think that signal is an issue then remove them.
My advice..... try scanning without removing any first and see what you get.
