thinking of buying ex1000 sl are they ok got eurovox 5000
is their much difference

the ex1000 is the most stable box going mate. nice design, i like it far better than the PVR. theres no decent recording box out there yet i dont think. stick to the ex1000.

The PVR has too many probs with HDD which i should have expected fixed in later revisions of the FW, but they dont care about addressing them yet:

1. when HDD is corrupt, it cant be formatted inside the box, needs to be tkaen out and formatted externally

2. scheduled recording with box on standby frequently writes corrupt filenames to HDD, when this happens you have to go 1. remove HDD and format it

3. when hdd is first installed, says "hard drive full or not ready" when you press PVR. should have been fixed before it was released!

4. slow recording

5, IDE is EOL, so much for it being futureproof

6. propriety file format, cant be played back on PC
