    EX5000PVR 8% quality

    Hi all,

EX5000PVR suddenly lost all channels including FTA (BBC, ITV etc). Have had box for nearly a year without issue. Only use it once in a while, so could've been a month since it was last used.

Have installed the latest firmware via Chatterbox (UFL EX5000 ver 2.1 by DarX), reset to factory, performed full scan, and nothing.

Notice that quality/signal is fixed at 8% before scan and then jumps up and down madly between 1-30% after a scan.

I did a bit of research and see that a firmware fix (8% signal quality) exists for the Eurovox Max, but there doesn't appear to be anything for my EX5000PVR.

I'm not a V1rg1n customer - my house was cabled up by previous owners.

    Cheers,

    Tek

Check all of the connections at the back of the box, if no cable is attached it will show 8% signal

      Thanks for your reply.

I did however check the cable between the wall socket and RF in. I also unhinged the box outside and checked there, but couldn't see anything obvious. I am not using any splitters.

Am I to assume that my cable has been severed elsewhere?

Your better off getting minimum subscription with VM to prevent your line being cut off, your box as you say is up to date so if you have tried both symbol rates when scanning and your cable feed is plugged in the RF in it sounds like you have been turned off.

As said min subscription would be the only way forward.

Thanks HiTeck, I was thinking the same thing.

This may be the pot calling the kettle black, but isn't it illegal for a cable company to cut you off from FTA channels once your property has been connected?

              Cheers,
