Max V 2008 picking up no channels - tried everything

wonder if anyone can help me with my problem

Ive got a Max V 2008 Black - ( Box was working fine apart from the odd channel missing ) I was going to sell it to a friend and buy the EX7000 HD so took it down to his place and when i rigged it up to a splitter which had his Vermin Media Box ( as he wanted to still have his Box rigged up for recording etc ) I lost channels - standby and 4 green dashes only displayed.

Reset the Box with Black reset button and managed to get the 4 0000 and remote working - tried endless scans after factory default as well as re flasing box - im in 6952 getting 97% on both level and quality yet im picking up absolutely no transponders whatsoever.

I dont know where to go from here as the Box simply wont pick up any channels.

Any help will be much appreciated

    Thanks

Outside the House Vermin have a splitter sending a cable around the rear of the house

The cable coming in through the wall into the living room is going direct to the box.

When I pop the RF cable in and out it jumps from 8% to 97% - does this suggest that the signal strength is fine ?

Just checked on the latest factory reset and power scan and it found 10/38 channels - the 10 channels were between the frequencies of 767Mhz - 855Mhz

Do i need to unscrew the splitter outside the property on the wall for it to pick up the 38 channels ?

      Thanks

when you fac reset the power scan check that your start freq is set at 100mhz and your finish freq is set at 850mhz.
        what area are you in

          Bristol im trying 6.952

I tried downloading a cdf file to the unit but then got all the channels showing "No Signal"

I tried a powerscan then actually had some channels

          30 C5 desc
          30 Sky sports 2

          and so on

First picture I've seen for a while from the Box ! but I had to delete the channels and factory reset and powerscan on 6.952 - still getting 97% Level & 97% Quality whilst scanning but its still not picking up transponders/channels

Any ideas - is the signal weak ? do i need a booster for the signal ? What else can it be when you dont pick up channels ?

I am using RF input and have changed the satellite cable just to make sure its not that

If I were to abandon this box - would I experience the same problems spending another 100 and something quid.

Is it the case that the signal is too weak to pick up channels? Do some guys scan with a digital signal booster ?

If I were to buy a box like the EX7000 then would I get a refund if i sent it back due to not picking up any channels ?

Im wondering about the signal thats coming down the feed, are you getting the pictures ok through your subbed box ? 97% is too high a signal around 80% is the norm and thats what most people have ...first thoughts are that there is a problem with the box,you dont need a booster with that strength signal, you need an attenuator, preferably a variable one .... Was there any maintainence going on in the area while you were scanning ? that would account for problems of course ...the only way you know for sure about the signal coming down the feed is to check via the cable suppliers set top box,if you are getting pictures via that, then all is ok,and your MaxV is faulty ......
