Eurovox 5000 design fault with PVR function

I have searched these forums and cannot find any solution to the eurovox 5000 problems. the box has major recording issues, I personally beleive it is either a design fault or a firmware problem that hasnot been sorted by the makers of the eurovox.

just wondering if anyone else out there has recording and palyback issues

as for the box on its owm its perfect.

Mine is alright as long as I dont plug the HDD in. If I leave it in overnight, the next day I have to switch the box off at the back and back ON again otherwise it will never comes on. Strange this but its ok.... At the end of the day I'm getting FREE channels, I believe you cant have both in these in this world, its either this or this.

the box records ok if you leave at least one thing on the hard drive at all times, mines only plays up when im recording onto an empty drive. give it a go and see if it helps.

The recording facility is pants it's always best to hard reboot before recording. At the end of the day no has room for complaints if your getting over 100 channels for free. Mines rubbish but I'll either wait for a firmware upgrade or I could buy a new box or even sub a V+ box.

                        Definately a crap box.

When they do record the pic quality is very good but they are so unreliable we use a separate recorder.

Work well for others myself included but its down to personal taste. I too prefer other PVRs but not because of the one or two bugs found with the EX5000.
