    Is this the right lead?

Firstly ive finally saved up my money for a box yippe!
I already bought the lead for flashing/updating some time ago. Since then ive seen quite a few topics and im staring to think i have the wrong lead. Is this the right lead? Ive only got a laptop. USB 2.0 TO RS232 SERIAL DB9 9 PIN ADAPTER CABLE PDA GPS on eBay, also, Adaptors, Cables Connectors, Computing (end time 27-Apr-09 14:40:23 BST)

Also just one last check. Ive been on the nthell website and it says i cant recieve digital channels, only analogue. I live in southampton.
I can get fibre optic braodband
I can get digital channels through a freeview box, if that matters..
Ive tested my coax to see if its live, it picked up channels 1 to 5 and a couple of scrambled cable channels.

Im all set to go yes?? Thanks ppl

You have the right lead for flashing the box m8 thats for sure. Not sure about the rules on the anolouge thing but im pretty sure someone on here will know so wait for the replies to flood in. But in the meantime why not just flash the box and connect it to your coax then give it a scan. Can't hurt to give it a whirl mate.
Sometimes a slow gradual approach does more good than a large gesture.

the lead is only half, this lead gives you a serial port through the USB, you will still need to get a null modem cable to connect from the serial to the box

Agree with mike on this one, that cable is just really an adaptor to turn a usb port into a 9 pin serial port.

You will also need a null modem cable.

I got mine from here HDMI Cables, AV Cables, Computer Cables, Travel adapters from Cable Universe. I also bought there usb to serial adaptor and it worked first time with my Kryptview box.
