Eurovox Ex5100 HDD Full or not installed

    Hi,
    I have a eurovox ex5100 with a wd120 gig Hdd fitted.
my problem is when i press rec i get the "hard drive full or not installed" message.
When you first turn the box on you can hear the drive spin up no problems.
ive checked all the pins and connectors there all fine.
The drive is brand new unformatted and is deff compatable with the 5100.
ive tryed all the turn off. turn on. ignore the error message just press rec stand on your head with a finger up your nose ideas(nothing works).
now heres my thinking i upgraded the firmware to darks 19-01-09 before i fitted the hdd.
does anyone know of any issues with the hard drive and firmware.
at the moment im trying to find the FTA software thats shipped with the box so i can reset the firmware back to factory standard and try the hdd pvr function again.
once its recorded to by my thinking the hdd should work with any firmware (or please tell me im talking out my hat).
sorry its a long post its my first and any help would be fab many thanks

if you can, connect the HD to a computer and format it in the FAT32 files system. The easiest way to connect it to the computer is with a USB Hard Disk caddy.

you are not formatting HD properly
If you buy SEAGATE from box supplier they work perfectly
I asked 4 different people to format old HD's only one worked
So you have to know what you are at when formatting
Unformatted or wrongly formatted HD's will show FULL or NOT INSTALLED
          P.S.
Be sure to power-off box before you insert or remove HD

Have you recorded anything on the hdd yet from your eurovox? that is a common message, put the hdd back in and press record, after about 5 mins press stop then try the PVR button.
