5000pvr and 5100pvr killed by hard drive?

Hi, hopefully someone can point me in the correct direction.
    I have a 5000 pvr and a 5100pvr. I had a 5100 with a seagate 120gb HD installed and everything appeared to be working fine .
After about a month the 5100 started flashing strangely on the front display and then would not power up.
I then put the HD into my 5000pvr and immediatley it started playing up and appears dead.
When I switch it on at the back I hear the HD spinning but nothing happens with the front display and the box appears dead.
I have tried reflashing it but to no avail, the software cannot detect the receiver.

    Any advice much appreciated!

With or without the HD it doesn't work at all.
Nothing, no power up light or any sign of life.
i have had it checked and told that processor is knackered.

nope, I just sent it 1st class only.
To be honest, I have never had any probs using Royal Mail, but I dont have any proof that it never arrived.
I have replaced it with the 1000 model and i'm impressed with it.
              500c remains the favourite though!
              cheers.
