Hi pretty new to all this but i get the jist of it.

Ok so my friends channels were totally mashed so i suggested fac reset and full powerscan now this is were it gets weird

full powerscan i get like 5 tp's from 100 to 870 MHZ 6.952 ( telewest) but if i go from 110 to 870 i get 33 missing few channels weird or what ( am i right in saying too much signal and you won't recieve channels) as freq 109 its shoots to 97 signal and quality and then does not pick up much(maybe overpowering the signal no idea guessing) i tested this by doing 100 to 300 as i know there is a frequency on 203 which it went straight past and did not pick up the tp then i tried again this time 110 to 300 and picked it up perfectly any ideas? btw running on april 08 firmware i think maybe there is a new firmware 5/12/08 i should use.

Hope i have given enough information.

Load up the latest firmware 5/12/08 go in menu, installation, factory reset, use default transponder settings, do a power scan (yellow button) should pick up about 36-39 TP's and around 250 channels + radio. When done go to sly sports 1 wait for the code to kick in. Ensure your signal power in is around 84%. Look around the site you will find all kinds of info how to do, just use the search box. If it don't pick up anything then its only the wrong supplier id in the settings menu, not sure what it is for your area.

Just out of curiousity i read on techwatch ( Hope i am allowed to mention other forums) that 5/12/08 don't get as many channels as 30/11/08 is this true?

No, the only difference is the later version has autosort.

use the firmware i just posted on ere m8
