Hi
I'm new here and a little green around the ears when it comes to all things HD. I have had a Eurovox max (a clone. I bought it without realising) for a couple of years and as such updates have to be done manually as I can't install new firmware. I've been watching TV with an old telly for sometime now but recently got given a phillips widescreen plasma matchline TV. It comes with a media box that has scart, component and vga inputs, but the TV only has VGA inputs so the signal from the box, whatever you input into it, ends up being transmitted by a VGA to VGA cable.
My old Eurovox only has a scart or Red yellow and white (don't know what that's called) outputs.
What i'm wanting to know is, is it possible to get a HD signal from a new Eurovox ex-7000 to my media box which transmits that signal to the TV via VGA? Or, is it a bit pointless getting the 7000 model as I won't be getting the full benefit of the HD output options I have on that?
Is it at all possible to get some sort of conversion adapter where HD can be transmitted to the eventual VGA input?
Any advice much appreciated, and just to forewarn, I am a complete technophobe (if you hadn't already guessed) so would be grateful if instructions/questions could be made simple for this simple man....
cheers
