EX7000HD Screen Settings

Set up my new box last night (fancied seeing if the HD bit really worked - I've converted from my trusty Dbox!)

Have to agree with most people about the channels/favourites thing being a complete pain in the 'arris, but all in all quite impressed with the pic quality.

Playing about with it last night, I had it set to 1080i and while there is a definite improvement in the picture, it seemed a bit 'washed out' almost and the channel logo's (or any wording on screen for that matter) seemed blurry at the edges and not as sharp or crisp as I expected. The TV is a 50" Full HD Plasma which has been calibrated and is set up with optimum settings for a HDMI connection. (Blu-ray picture for instance is mint)

My question is would I be better setting the Eurovox to 720p or 1080i? I believe Progressive is better over Interlaced but I'm assuming 1080 would be better over 720 on a 50"

unfortunately, the answer is that they're both better. In my experience, in programmes where there is a lot of movement, such as Action films, or football, 720p is better, whereas for "normal" viewing (e.g. coronation st or the news) 1080i is better.

I personally would leave it at 1080i, and maybe change it over for the football.

My 7000 gives a superb picture on 720i on a Sony 32" LCD,but epecially on the MUTV channel.Cheers Chas.

Oh Yippee - as long as MUTV looks good eh......!! (Sorry, sarcastic tones of me being a Liverpool fan slipped out there!)


Thanks for the reply folks - watched a bit of BBC HD last night and was looking good on 1080i for me. I'll see how the footy looks at the weekend.......if it lasts that long........


........had a good play with it last night and have to say it's really getting on my t*ts!
Things started well with a reset and rescan, not many duplicate channels. Managed to sort all the channels and favourites no bother - this time they all saved where they should do.
Watched TV for about an hour. Changed channel. Volume stops working! Mute button doesn't work! Turned the box off and back on, all fine again. Thought I'd have a look at the radio stations - pressed the radio button. Nothing happened. Volume and mute have again stopped working! Changed channels - f***ing subtitles have turned themselves on - on every channel!!!

Not very impressed with this at all really and seriously considering putting this Vox back in its box!

Anyone any suggestions, apart from hanging on til the new firmware is released and hope it sorts it?!!

One last rant - the packaging says 'Various on-screen games'.......where exactly are these??!!
