    5000 pvr Problems

My problems stated last Saturday, The first thing I noticed was that when I pressed the OK button, the list of channels that then come up, did not have what was showing at the time.
I then tried to view a channel and I got the dreaded
No or bad signal. Not one of the channels that I had was watchable. I have since tried all sorts of scans, and the most channels that I can get is 135. and all of these are breaking up and are not watchable. These channels are either free view or the adult channels, that I don't want.
I only used the box for the sport. I have downloaded the most up to date firmware but still no joy. I am in the Northwest and ex N*L.
    Anyone have any ideas?

Try turning the Signal booster on in TV settings under config then do a factory default and a deep scan, also what does it say in system info also listed under TV settings.

      Hi Hi
I have tried that one. It seems to be getting better using a 9db attenuator. But picture still breaking up.
I do have the minimum virgin TV package and their box works fine. It's getting tear your hair out time.
      System information is

      H/W VER 2.0TK5 +D
      BOOTSTRAP v001

When the channel is selected it is pretty much steady.
But picture is still breaking up.
              Could my box be knackered.

Press info twice on a glitching channel and check what the frequency is then go into user installation and find the same frequency and if its say for example 374000 change to 374750 and save then check the channel see if it improves.

Thanks, I will try that as soon as the wife has finished watching her soaps.

Can't find a way to do what Fergal suggested, but when I went into user installation. the signal strap at the bottom was jumping betweem 2-84% not noticed this before.
                    Any thoughts on this.

Try as above although if your North west england your still missing 100+ channels so sounds like a signal problem, have you tried the earlier firmware Digital Kaos - Downloads - UK UFL EX5000 with Autosort 051208

                          Hi again.
I have just downloaded that software. I am now giving it a deep scan. I will let you know how it goes.
But I am sure now that the box has a problem.
PS. If the box does turn out to be faulty, what is the best replacement.
