Eurovox 5000 not starting up after firmware update.

Hi ,

I have Eurovox5000. it was working fine. but yesterday I updated the firmware with the latest downloaded from this site. Now when I tried to switch on this, it just shows me the two dots( on the display and nothing else comes up. can somebody please help me in this regard?

Well is is the pvr version or normal?
Why not turn the rear switch off then turn it back on and leave it for 2mins..then see if the box boots..if not see if the red light is on if not then this is the end of my useless help!

Thanks for the advice... it is a pvr version... actually I tried everything... but no use... . The red light doesnt come up now... is there a way to reset it through hardware ... as I am not able to flash it again as well.

Is there any sign of life to the box?
Is there a red/green light on or anything on the LED display?
When you press menu on remote, does anything come up?
If you have a HDD installed, when you power up the unit, can you hear a sound from the HDD?

yes... actually I see the two dots in the middle of the display ( : )and HDD also makes a noise as well. but nothing else happens... only two dots remains on the display and no other lights comes up. also I removed the HDD from it and tried to get the data on my laptop but it is not getting recognised as a disk. just show USB disk drive found.

try a global resett of the box and reinstal the latest firmware again.

how to do a global reset?

press menu button on remote, move cursor along to configuration and then select clear data. 0000 is the code. now choose factory default. this will reset your box ready to instal your firmware again good luck.
