Line in - Splitter to Broadband / Eurovox - Broadband effecting TV

    Hi all,

I've done a search and found people having issues with the Eurovox effecting their broadband, but mine is the other way around.

The Eurovox is working fine, no skipping or jumping etc, however when I browse the internet or refresh pages etc, it causes the picture and sound to skip.

Any idea's of what could be causing this?

    My set up is:

    Cable in - splitter - BB/Eurovox

    Thank you.

Yeah..been messing around all day. Sure I have tried both sides, but I will do it again to be sure.

Will try another splitter soon too. If it turns out not to be the splitter, any other suggestions people?

if you try both individually on the main feed and work no problem, then surely it can only be the splitter or the length of cable that runs from the splitter to either the bb modem or box. just mess about swap each on to either side of splitter and try each on either cable and see which one is breaking down. Unless there's a low output from your main feed to run 2 apperatus but i doubt it very much, that would be a job for vm tho, if you do have to ring them to come have a look dont forget to remove the box prior to their visit

Running them one at a time wont help me, TV is fine. Its only when I start browsing it messes up.

I will try them the other way round and let you know how I get on.

running them 1 at a time would have been the first thing i did myself as to eliminate the router or modem. If you going to find this fault without the need for meters and testers, then all it is, is a process of elimination.

I had a similar problem, searched www and found that I needed a filter on the TV line. Contacted vermin medium and told them what the problem was and what I (they) needed to supply to fix it. They brought round a 2-way splitter with filter built in, hey presto all fixed

I had the same problem as you. TV was fine, broadband was really slow.
I saw a VM technician having his dinner, asked him for an isolator. He gave me an isolator.
I set it up like this

Everything works fine now. Try that.

If not, put the isolator between the Eurovox and the Splitter.

Sorry, I don't think you understand.

The TV skips ONLY when I refresh the browser on my computer or visit a new webpage.

Both work fine when only once in use.

Will definately give this a try.

Are all isolators the same? Or are there specific DB ones or anything like that?

Ps. The problem you had it not my problem. My Broadband works fine, its not a problem. My problem is that when I browse the internet, it causes my TV picture to flicker and jump.

                  Thanks.

Hmm, look like I am getting slow speeds after all! It MAY be the splitter, but will see.

However, where do I buy an isolator from from? I would need a female and male end would it not?

I just spotted a VMedia tech having a bacon sarnie and asked him for a spare, with a fiver in my pocket.... He didnt even ask for any money when I told him I had VM at home but they hadnt installed an isolator originally (they did)

As for the connections.. I couldnt say what you need as I cant remember! I think I may have used an extra bit of cable, which again you can get from any tech.
