    eurovox 5100 pvr problems

    hi all, i'm a newbie

got a 5100 pvr a couple of weeks ago and a friend of a friend programmed it for me

since then it has been turning itself off periodically and now i'm losing channels as well as not getting all the info on the EPG

when i checked the forum and it has said how to update scrambled channels it says take a note of the frequency etc etc and then in user installation press blue button for manual scan...in user installation my blue button is 'power scan'

    is this right?

manual scan on my options is green

    any info would be great

Yes m8, the manual scan button is green on the Ex5000PVR.
Update the channels using the green button for manual scan.

thanks for ur help, ive lost a few channels (setanta 1&2, trouble etc etc) and when i done the manual scan they still did not work...

also, after the manual scan on some frequency's i've now got loads of empty channels in some of my categories, "btvservice" loads of "ch1" (about 13 of them) and some channels i had before have been removed completely

can anyone advise me to what ive done here and help me fix it

        Ok m8.
Trying doing a deep scan, this will pick up all the channels in your area. Use symbol rate 6.887 or 6.952.
This is what your softwa*e should be, menu>config>system info.
        DVB-XC EX5100 TDA
        1.0 ST4 JAN 16 2009
        2.0t K5 +D
        V001
        KURO

***Before you start the scan, do a factory default***

        menu>config>clear data>OK>0000>erase all channels>OK>OK
        Factory default>erase all recordings>OK>OK

        Then start the deep scan.

Just do a rescan and they should come back up.
Im gonna make myself unpopular here probably but i would'nt recommend lincsat. I recommended him to my dad as his website says he offers after sales support" yet he has no idea about the box! Also it wasnt flashed even though he posted a letter saying it was flashed. Anyway..

Check amazon for 5100 as there are no clones at the moment and you will save yourself ?20-?30. Also they bundle the null modem cable with it.
