In that case m8 stay asleep and the box will work fine...

Its probably cos its getting HOT. Make sure the air vents are clean and clear of any obstructions and is placed where air can circulate.

Also check you have not got a timer set every day to place the box into standby at a certain time.

There has been a glich in some firmware for the 5000 that caused it to switch to standby.

        HDD?

If you have a hard drive itted it will probably be getting too hot.
I took the drive out of mine and it worked fine.

I have a ex5000 and have had the same problem as many others.

The box tends to turn off on the stroke of mid night. I would advise you to try this as a possible solution.

          1. Power off your eurovox.
          2. Take out your hard drive.
          3. Flash your eurovox with the latest software even if you already have it.
          4. Power off your box and insert your hard drive.
          5. Power on your box and rescan or down your cdf file if you have saved it.

I had the same problem until last week

i had exactly that problem, then i made a post on this site for another issue "Eurovox EX5000 "newbie" questions " and the advice i was given was to follow the GUIDE: How to Flash a Eurovox by user MTV1, i did this and one of the side effects was that the midnight standby stopped!
Hopefully that will work for you too.
